I wanted to share the worst quality preview pics of a weekend project for which I’ll have lovely professional pictures to share very soon! (oh what a difference quality pics make – on this project, it was ‘go go go’ right up until I left the house, and I didn’t have the luxury of time to take photos for myself!)
I’m so excited to be branching out and doing more flowers for others, rather than just experiments for myself!
Bride’s bouquet: (White dinner plate dahlias, white lisianthus, ranunculus, privet berries, white aster, silver brunia berries, dusty miller, and hanging amaranthus hand tied in a slight cascade / trailing design)
Little accent pieces on weathered white candlesticks- pomanders with teddy bear sunflowers, marigolds, yarrow, white aster, and hanging green amaranthus:
A ring of yarrow, aster, marigolds, queen anne’s lace and dusty surrounds a ceramic bird:
Dinner plate dahlias! (Some silver brunia later got added to this design). These puppies are big and really hard to work with because their heavy blooms face straight out/ forward (as did the sunflowers) rather than up. The flowers that are facing up in these domed designs are inserted into the foam completely horizontally, and the side flowers’ stems are inserted vertically UP rather than down, and secured with bouquet hold, my new favorite product for heavy flowers that might otherwise slip out of foam- I also couldn’t have made the sunflower pomanders without it!
I can’t wait to see (and share) the finished product!
