Yesterday it was my honor to create the flowers for Randy and Lauren’s wedding at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach, CA. I had never been to the venue before, and it’s absolutely beautiful! The ceremony lawn is right on the bay, and the grounds are lovely – with so much in bloom, Mr. Floret Cadet and I were joking that we could have just brought clippers and sourced all of the flowers from the venue’s grounds and done the whole wedding on site!
Lauren was going for a super romantic, classic look for her wedding flowers – heavy on roses, pink and ivory. I ordered more of one single flower type (roses) than I ever have before! I used sweet avalanche as the primary pink rose, and loved them, and also worked in a lot of pink majolica spray roses, ivory roses, and for Lauren’s bouquet, my beloved Juliet garden roses. I also used Lizzy carnations again this time – I just LOVE their color. In the bridesmaid bouquets, they almost look camel colored -really neutral, but in pinker or peacher designs, the peach really pops out. They’re just so pretty!
Here are some shots of the bridesmaid bouquets – they were wearing blush pink dresses, so we kept these pretty de-saturated- I love the delicate texture of the rice flower!

All packed up and ready to leave the house (along with an all Lizzy carnation toss bouquet – an economical and beautiful option!)

And on site, I added some lovely little pink Maribou poufs that I got on Etsy to the front of the bouquet. I wanted to show Lauren and make sure she liked where they were placed (kind of framing the bouquet rather than in the bouquet). I think they’re a fun touch!.jpg)

janet - Those lizzy carnations are perfect. I seriously thought they were cafe au lait dahlias at first glance. Gorgeous.
Kathy - Wonderful article about you in Bloomin’ News. I really enjoy your blog and your beautiful flowers. Congrats on the article and your pregnancy!
Kate - Thanks! They haven’t put the issue online yet so I haven’t posted about it, but it was fun to talk to them! Appreciate your comment
