On Sunday I had the great pleasure of creating a tablescape for a bridal shower that one of my friends was hosting for a close friend of hers. The color palette was an array of bright, warm peaches, yellows, oranges, mangoes, salmons, and sherbets with pops of deep blush / fuchsia, and lots of greenery.
I took a *ton* of pics, because I used many of my favorite flowers, and arranged them at a leisurely pace- so I’ll be sharing them over the next few days to avoid out of control monster blog posts!
It was so much fun to watch these flowers open too – many of them, like the peach amaryllis and the icelandic poppies, come in complete bud form and open in a staggered fashion over many days. When I’d collected all of my flowers and gotten the amaryllis and poppies open, my cart (still my favorite floral supply purchase ever!) looked like a total party!
Here’s what it had going on: 5 stems of peach amaryllis, 3 bunches of icelandic poppies, 1 bunch of peach parrot tulips, 1 bunch of orange parrot tulips, 3 bunches of orange ranunculus, 2 bunches of fuchsia carnations, 2 bunches of maidenhair fern (that I didn’t even end up using, man is that stuff finnicky!), 1 bunch of peppermint geranium leaf, 1 bunch of finesse roses, 1 bunch of yellow stock, 1 bunch of peach stock, 2 stems of (different) hot pink / fuchsia cymbidium orchids, 5 stems of yellow mokara orchids, 1 bunch of genestra, 1 bunch of smilax garland (not shown here), and 1 bunch of very cool mystery green branches with dark berries (actually it’s not much of a mystery, I just don’t recall the name off the top of my head and need to check my invoice later ; )

This was actually my first time working with Astilbe, despite loving it so much. It’s just coming in and looking great (sometimes it’s astronomically expensive and kind of sparse looking to boot)

Also my first time working with poppies! I’m so glad I ordered more than just one bunch, because they bloomed in a very staggered pattern – a couple of them popped each day in the 3 days leading up to the event- I had many left over, yet to bloom, on the day of the event, but plenty to use because I’d gotten several bunches!

Here are some cool close ups of the poppys, in bud form and in various states of almost open:

OK, that’s it for today – stay tuned tomorrow for some process shots, and the finished pics of all of these flowers, arranged in very cool off white bird cages!

Jessica - Now I want my own flower stand thanks to your first picture.
I just love witnessing poppies open. It so cool to see that those floppy, paper-y petals were hidden in those fuzzy buds.
